Retention Rule Number: Specific Retention Rule 2017.02

Function/Activity: To document the Disclosure of Sexual Violence as such terms are defined in the Sexual Violence Policy.

Description/Type of Records: Disclosure of Sexual Violence as defined in the Sexual Violence Policy when the Disclosure is recorded in any form. May include correspondence, notes, and voice recordings provided by the individual making the Disclosure or captured by the Academic Staff Member, Appointee, or Employee to whom the Disclosure is made and at the request of the individual making the Disclosure. NOTE: This Rule does not apply to records relating to the support that is made available to an individual pursuant to the Sexual Violence Policy, or to Formal Reports as defined in the Sexual Violence Policy.

Records pertaining to a Disclosure of Sexual Violence are the property of the University and will be safeguarded to ensure confidentiality and, when applicable, the Complainant’s anonymity.
