RE Research

This block covers research and technology transfer as it relates to University operations and the promotion of the University's research expertise. It includes chairs and professorships; sponsored research; research ethics; research partnerships with industry including business, industrial, technological and research organizations, and with community organizations; and liaison with research bodies including institutes, centres and groups.

RE001 - RESEARCH - GENERAL

Activity:

To document research and scholarship matters not shown elsewhere in this block.  Material of a specific nature should be placed on the appropriate subject file.

RE110 - CHAIRS AND PROFESSORSHIPS

Activity:

To document the development, establishment, appointment and general administration of chairs and professorships which are funded by endowments and other sources such as granting agencies. Records may include terms of reference, fund-raising proposals, correspondence, and selection committee agenda and minutes.

RE125 - CLINICAL TRIALS

Activity:

To document the development, administration and promotion of industry-sponsored, patient-based research and the monitoring of procedures and regulations; and to document the liaison and partnerships with clinical trial sponsoring bodies.

RE200 - ETHICS REVIEW AND APPROVAL

Activity:

To document the development of ethical protocol related to research involving humans and animals, and other biosafety issues; and to document the process of ethical approval for this type of research. May include records of University ethics committees and other records related ethics concerns.

RE235 - EXTERNAL RESEARCH FUNDING

Activity:

To document research projects funded through external sources including government agencies and industry including project activities, applications for funding and financial arrangements.  Records may include agreements, contracts, and applications, curriculum vitae, financial documents, annual and periodic reports of participants, and award files.

RE340 - INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Activity:

To document discussion of intellectual property issues for the outcomes and ownership of university related scholarly pursuits and endeavours.  May include registration of patent rights for inventions, patent licences and assignments of copyright.  Records may include patents, disclosures, agreements, financial documents and licences.

Activity:

To document research projects funded through internal University sources and funding streams including starter grants, short-term research projects and collaborative research grants.  Records may include applications, annual and periodic reports of participants, financial documents, curriculum vitae, and award files.

Activity:

To document the provision of advice to researchers in obtaining and administering grants and contracts, and the provision of assistance interpreting policies and procedures related to research and scholarly activities.

Activity:
