Duplication of records – Archives and Special Collections

Duplication of records

The University Archives is a non-lending institution due to the original and unique nature of archival records.  Special reproduction measures are also in place to preserve the records.

Requests for reproduction will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.  No reproduction will take place if damage is likely to result to an item.  For all other instances, Reading Room staff will photocopy, scan, or arrange to photograph the records, provided the request is in compliance with the Canadian Copyright Act. Reproduction requests may take up to 5 business days.

The researcher assumes all responsibility for issues of copyright relating to the copies.  Clients reproducing records from the Archives’ collection must request approval from the University Archives in advance via uarc@ucalgary.ca.  Citations must credit the University of Calgary Archives and quote the relevant accession, box and file number of the item.  [i.e. UARC 84.005/2.02]
