Confidential Shredding – Archives and Special Collections

Confidential Shredding

In accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, the University Archives has:

  • declared a moratorium on the destruction of records unless there is an official retention rule authorizing their destruction, and
  • developed policy guidelines on the destruction of personal and other confidential material.

Personal and other confidential records must be secure even when they have been set aside for destruction.

Please choose the appropriate form for your records.

Name of the office, unit, faculty, department.

Provide the location (building name and room number) where the Shredding Agent can come to see you prior to picking up your boxes. This location MUST be staffed between 8:30-4:30 (with the exception of lunch 12:00-1:00). From this location, you can then direct the Shredding Agent to the locked storage area or other location where you have stored your boxes.

Number of Boxes

No oversize boxes will be accepted. Boxes must be bankers/Xerox or smaller.
