About Us
The Emerging Alberta project is a partnership between the University of Calgary Archives and the Provincial Archives of Alberta, with generous funding supplied by the Canadian Council of Archives. The educational resources are linked to a digital archive photograph database which you can access from links posted throughout the site. These photographs are taken from the Alberta Report magazine which covered Alberta’s news and events from 1973 to 2003.
The photographs will give you an unprecedented look at the lives of people from Alberta’s communities through descriptive and informative photographs from the last thirty years. We encourage you to access the archive and take a look at the photographs.
