Canadian author and playwright Max Braithwaite was born in Nokomis, Saskatchewan, on December 7, 1911. Biographical information available in Who's who in Canadian literature 1987-88, p. 43.

Fonds consists of business and personal correspondence, contracts and royalty statements; diaries; preliminary work and ideas; manuscripts, ranging from rough drafts to galleys, of radio and television plays, screenplays, radio and film scripts, novels, short stories, articles and speeches; newsclippings of reviews, articles and interviews; and miscellaneous material. Also includes manuscripts of short stories and scripts by other authors.
Acquired in 1986 and 1990. Accession 656/99.13 donated by Mrs. Aileen Braithwaite. MsC 308, consisting of a letter from M. Braithwaite to James (Jim) DeFelice, September 17, 1977, donated by J. DeFelice in 2001.
