The Gazette was the University of Calgary's campus newspaper from 1968 until 2003.
The University Gazette became the general campus newsletter in 1968 when the "Faculty Gazette" became an insert. One issue titled University Gazette is dated April 1967, vol. 1, no. 3. The first issue of the Gazette was called the University Gazette, but by the third issue the word University had been dropped. The Gazette ceased to exist in the summer of 2003 when University Communications decided that a new publication with an new look was needed on campus and in September of that year "OnCampus" was introduced to the University community. Original newspapers are held in the University Archives, Accession number 65.001.
